Restaurant Aerides in Plaka, Athens

A cozy resturant located on a picturesque spot in Plaka close to the Tower of the Winds (Aerides). The design was inspired both by the historical elements of the neiborhood and by the building’s old days, hosting the legendary Cafe “Platanos” of Rere in Plaka where artists and intellectuals such as Kostis Palamas and Angelos Sikelianos used to frequent during the 1930’s. By carefully studying the building’s past and incorporating elements that pay homage to its history, we aimed to achieve an elegant integration of the building with its surrounding area while also respecting the historical significance of the building. To accomplish this, we selected materials, colors, and finishes that would not only enhance the beauty of the space but also honor its past and contribute to the overall aesthetic of the project to ensure a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing final result.
